After payment to the hospital, the patient receives a detailed statement and the original hospitalisation invoice. The statement gives the patient an overview of the costs paid by us. With the original hospitalisation invoice, the patient can call on any additional insurance cover.
Direct payment of the full hospitalisation invoice may result in Vanbreda paying more than is provided for by the guarantees of the medical plan, e.g. exemption, non-medical expenses such as telephone, extra meals, …
In that case, we shall reclaim part of the costs paid from the patient.
For repayment of costs not covered, the patient receives a letter with an attached transfer slip. We require the patient to transfer the amount to our account within 30 days.
